Thailand loves a big music festival. It also loves making you wait for the date drop like it is a national sport. Some organisers publish early and clean, some move at a sensible pace, and some behave like a blurry poster on social media is enough for everyone to plan a flight. This is the useful version: dates checked against organiser, venue, ticketing or government pages as of 9 October 2026.
If you only remember one thing, make it this: the calendar gets serious in November and barely pauses until February. Bangkok, Pattaya and Chonburi carry much of the national schedule, but Phuket is building a genuine destination-festival season of its own.

Bangkok is the easy base for Monster, DIAGE, CAT EXPO and Afro Island. Pattaya and Chonburi make sense for LEO FEST, Wonderfruit and Tomorrowland. Phuket now has the week-long Project Phuket and Pop Rush in November, followed by EDC in December, while Big Mountain's new home is Farm Chokchai 3 near Khao Yai. That is the real Thailand festival map: less a neat calendar and more a set of strong little gravity wells.
Which November Afro festival do people mean?
There are three different events with similar language. Project Phuket runs from 23 to 30 November and is a week-long Afrobeats, Amapiano and travel programme. Afro Island Bangkok is a one-day, 20+ Afro music and dance event at Cloud 11 on 28 November. Chiang Mai Afro-Latin Festival runs from 27 to 30 November and is a multi-day dance-and-culture gathering built around bachata, kizomba, workshops, performances and social dancing. They are not interchangeable, so check the city and format before buying.
The 2027 watchlist
Early 2027 is no longer just a vague watchlist. Phuket alone has multiple destination weekends on sale or announced, while Bangkok, Chonburi, Khao Yai and Pai already have confirmed dates.

The January collision matters. DnB Allstars, Muuji, Zamna, Din Daen and Bangkok Music City all land within nine days. Anyone travelling for more than one needs to calculate the real transfer time between Phuket, Phang Nga, Khao Yai, Chonburi and Bangkok rather than treating them as neighbouring pins on a map.
The big holdouts
The 2027 editions of Tomorrowland Thailand, EDC Thailand, Big Mountain Music Village, CAT EXPO and Monster Music Festival remain the biggest missing dates. Their 2026 events are real; their next editions should not be assumed until the organisers publish them.
The April festivals are the other obvious gap. S2O and SIAM Songkran remain the big Songkran music events in Bangkok, but confirmed 2027 programmes were not live on the official pages checked for this update. Songkran dates can look predictable while the venue, ticket structure and actual festival nights still move, so wait for the proper release.
Thailand festival season is not one season. It is a moving target with better production.
If you want the blunt version, Thailand's live music calendar is in a very good place. The bigger problem is not a lack of festivals. It is choosing which ones you can actually reach before flights, hotel rates and ticket tiers start doing their usual nonsense.
