Cafes & Coworking in Phuket

Working from a beach is a myth, sand and screens don't mix. What you actually want is decent wifi, aircon, a real chair and somewhere to take a call. Phuket has plenty of both real coworking spaces and cafes you can camp in for a few hours. Here's where I'd point you.

Rawai is the hub

If remote work is your reason for being here, Rawai in the south is where most of it happens. It's got the densest cluster of coworking spaces and laptop-friendly cafes, plus the wellness and fitness scene that tends to go with it. You can build a whole routine within a few minutes of each other.

The coworking spaces worth knowing

Grind Time (Rawai & Chalong)

The biggest and most established network on the island. The Rawai space is large, with quiet zones, phone booths, meeting rooms and a social area. The Chalong branch even has a gym with showers, which is handy if you want to train and work in one trip.

Let's Work (Rawai)

Often called the gold standard on the island, right on the Rawai beachfront road with sea views. A professional setup and a prime spot.

The Project (Rawai)

A slightly more laid-back option in the Rawai nomad area, clean, comfortable and friendly. A good alternative if Let's Work is busy.

Further afield

Over in Chalong, Place Coworking is a big multi-floor space open 24 hours on weekdays, good if you keep odd hours or work to a different timezone. Near Patong, Denz is a coworking cafe with fast fibre and a view over the bay.

Cafes for a few hours

When you just need a change of scene, the cafes around Rawai are full of people working. Wilson's Cafe is a popular one in the heart of the nomad area, and Gallery Cafe in Chalong is a local favourite. A coffee buys you a couple of hours, but be considerate at peak times, and for anything important like calls or big uploads, a coworking space is the safer bet.
