Who We Are

About Modern Expat Magazine

Modern Expat Magazine is an independent publication combining locally grounded Thailand reporting with evidence-led destination guides for people building lives around the world.

Real people, real stories

Moving abroad is exciting and disorienting. Modern Expat began with first-hand reporting from Phuket and Thailand: the founders, freelancers, families, businesses and friendships behind the relocation headlines. That remains our deepest locally reported coverage.

Our global city and country guides use a different, clearly stated method: primary official sources, destination-specific editorial comparison, visible verification dates and a quality gate before indexing. Stories and interviews capture lived experience; guides help readers compare the legal, housing, healthcare, transport and climate systems behind a move.
